“Me Time” is not Selfish

When you travel for work, chances are, you’re expected to be “on” beyond 9-5. As an Event Planner, being there IS my job so it’s incredibly rare to have set breaks or evenings free. It goes without saying that this can take its toll and lead to burnout or just feeling bad.

It’s important to find time, even if it’s just a few minutes before bed to take some me time. You’ll show up more present and ready to tackle everything that comes your way. Here are a few ways I’ve worked in this time to reset:

  • 5 minutes of stretching before bed

  • Workout at the hotel gym- even if you only have time for one set!

  • Bring a “pamper” item with you- this could be a shower bomb, lavender pillow spray, eye mask, anything you can use to escape for a few minutes in your room

  • OOTD fit-check. When I need to pump myself up before a big day, I’ll pose and take a mirror selfie to remind myself I’m a bad@$$ and I’ve got this!

I hope if you’re in need of some me time, or travel day re-centering, that the above tips help you find strength and balance. As always, I’d love to hear what works for you as well!
