Dancing the Night Away

A long time ago, in a convention center far, far away, I started my career in events. We’d spend our days decorating, pushing road cases from one end of the building to the other, and making our clients’ visions reality. Often times, I’d find myself doing this in 3” heels on cement floors for hours on end. Even in my 20’s this took a toll.

I was gifted a peppermint bath set for Christmas one year and discovered immediately that the peppermint foot spray felt so good at the end of the work day. This spray was my first secret weapon for surviving the events industry. Until it ran out and I had trouble finding a good replacement, especially since I’m allergic to tea tree oil.

Not to worry, I’m resourceful, so I set out to make my own. With a blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, and menthol essential oils, and a witch hazel base, I had a whole mason jar of goodness! I spray it on my legs from the knees down as soon as I get back to my room, and let the cooling sensation make the swollen pain melt away.

During a break at a conference a few years ago I shared it with my crew. A room of full grown men fighting over the “fru fru” foot spray, sitting around barefoot doing yoga (they wanted to try all my tricks at this point.) They were hooked, and I knew I had to share my secret with all my colleagues.

This is how Step & Repeat was born. It comes in a lightweight aluminum spray bottle that’s under 3oz so it’s always travel-ready. I love to use it not only at the end of the day, but also to refresh my feet and legs when going from trade show floor to the after party dance floor.
